Karawang, Wartacana.com – Kasus dugaan oplosan bahan bakar minyak (BBM) oleh SPBU Pertamina yang sempat viral di media sosial rupanya memantik gelombang perpindahan konsumen ke SPBU swasta. Salah satu SPBU yang ketiban untung adalah Shell.
Tim Wartacana pun mencoba mendalaminya. Melalui wawancara pengguna, Tim Penulis menemui tiga pengguna BBM Shell.
Daffa Pratama (21 tahun) misalnya, mengaku bahwa dirinya pindah ke Shell karena merasa tertipu, setelah mengetahui kasus oplosan BBM Pertamina. Perpindahan ini dilakukan karena tidak mau ambil risiko, kendaraannya rusak.

“Saya sebenarnya sudah ada niat dari lama untuk coba Shell. Tapi karena kasus kemarin, akhirnya benar-benar pindah. Daripada membahayakan mesin motor, saya rasa Shell lebih bisa dipercaya,” ujar Daffa, pengguna baru Shell asal Karawang.
Menurut mahasiswa asal Karawang tersebut, meskipun tidak terlalu memahami aspek teknis, penggunaan bahan bakar Shell terasa memberikan efek berbeda pada performa kendaraan.
“Mesinnya terasa lebih halus dan irit. Selain itu, saya juga suka karena Shell punya fitur membership seperti Shell Go+,” tambahnya.
Tidak hanya dari sisi bahan bakar, Daffa juga menyoroti pengalaman pelanggan yang lebih nyaman di SPBU Shell. Mulai dari keramahan petugas, kebersihan area SPBU, hingga fasilitas umum seperti toilet dan minimarket.
Hal senada disampaikan oleh Feryan Nur (27 tahun), pengguna lama Shell yang telah berlangganan sejak akhir 2023. Menurutnya, Shell memberikan kualitas bahan bakar yang konsisten baik, terutama bagi kendaraan bermesin besar.
“Motor saya cc-nya di atas 150. Tarikannya jadi lebih spontan dan tidak ada penurunan performa sejak pakai Shell. Selain itu, Shell punya keunggulan seperti desain futuristik, area bersih, hingga layanan workshop untuk perawatan ringan,” jelasnya.
Ia juga mencatat adanya lonjakan jumlah pelanggan di SPBU Shell setelah mencuatnya kasus Pertamina, terutama di area Karawang.
“Biasanya antre 2–3 motor, sekarang bisa sampai 6–8. Tapi pelayanan tetap tertib dan cepat,” ujarnya.
Pengalaman serupa juga dirasakan oleh Ade Harianto (46 tahun). Dia adalah pengguna baru Shell yang sebelumnya menggunakan Pertamax dari SPBU Pertamina sejak awal memiliki kendaraan.
“Alasannya pertama saya merasa dibohongi. Sebagai bentuk kekecewaan saya terhadap Pertamina, maka saya pindah isi bahan bakar di Shell,” ujarnya.
Dia mengaku pelayanan di SPBU Shell terasa lebih baik dibanding sebelumnya. “Pegawainya lebih sopan dan sering menawarkan aplikasi Shell+ yang dapet poin,” katanya.
Ia juga menyebut bahwa dari segi performa, suara kendaraannya terasa lebih halus saat menggunakan produk Shell. “Jadi lebih halus,” ujarnya.
Namun demikian, harga BBM Shell yang lebih tinggi tetap menjadi pertimbangan. Ia mengaku tidak selalu mengisi di SPBU Shell, tergantung kondisi finansial. “Kadang-kadang saya isi di Shell sesekali aja, tidak rutin,” tambahnya.
Dari segi efisiensi, ia merasa bahan bakar Shell lebih irit jika dihitung per liter, meskipun secara nominal terasa lebih sedikit dibanding Pertamax. “Kalau 1 liter dibanding 1 liter, jauh lebih irit Shell,” tegasnya.
Terkait rencana jangka panjang, Ade mengatakan bahwa keputusan akan bergantung pada konsistensi kualitas produk Pertamina. “Kalau Pertamina konsisten dan berkomitmen jelas, mungkin saya akan kembali,” tutupnya.
Meskipun harga BBM Shell cenderung lebih tinggi dibanding SPBU lain, para pengguna menyatakan bahwa kualitas yang diberikan sebanding. Bagi mereka, harga bukan masalah. Asalkan performa kendaraan terjaga dan pelayanannya menyenangkan.
Ketiganya meyakini bahwa perpindahan ini bukan hanya tren sesaat. Selama Shell mampu mempertahankan kualitas dan inovasi layanannya, perpindahan pelanggan bisa menjadi jangka panjang.
“Selisih harga bisa dimaklumi kalau kualitasnya konsisten,” kata Feryan Nur.
Tim Penulis juga berusaha mendapatkan tanggapan resmi dari pihak Shell terkait isu BBM oplosan dan lonjakan konsumen. Namun, hingga berita ini ditulis, pihak Shell belum memberikan pernyataan resmi. Saat dihubungi, perwakilan Shell menyatakan bahwa mereka belum dapat memberikan komentar terkait isu tersebut.
Pengamat ekonomi dan energi dari Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Fahmy Radhi, menilai bahwa kasus dugaan oplosan Pertamax telah memicu krisis kepercayaan konsumen terhadap Pertamina, yang berdampak pada peningkatan penjualan SPBU pesaing seperti Shell.
“Konsumen merasa dikhianati oleh Pertamina karena kualitas BBM yang tidak sesuai. Akibatnya, mereka mencari alternatif yang lebih dapat dipercaya, seperti Shell,” ujar Fahmy Radhi, seperti dikutip dari KOMPAS.
Selain itu, lonjakan pelanggan di SPBU Shell juga tercatat di berbagai daerah. Misalnya, di Blitar, penjualan BBM Shell meningkat hingga empat kali lipat, sementara di Cirebon, SPBU Shell Kesambi mengalami kenaikan penjualan lebih dari 100 persen hingga kehabisan stok.
“Kenaikan ini menunjukkan bahwa konsumen mencari alternatif yang lebih dapat dipercaya setelah kasus Pertamina mencuat,” tambah Fahmy Radhi.
