Karawang, wartacana.com – Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam beberapa tahun terakhir telah mengubah banyak aspek kehidupan manusia dari pendidikan, bisnis, hingga industri kreatif, AI hadir bukan lagi sebagai wacana masa depan, melainkan realitas hari ini. Dunia jurnalisme pun tidak luput dari arus transformasi tersebut. Banyak yang beranggapan pekerjaan Jurnalis bakal digantikan AI di masa mendatang. Namun ada juga yang mengganggap bahwa hal itu tidak akan terjadi, karena AI digunakan sebatas alat bantu dalam menunjang kegiatan Jurnalistik.
Ancaman atau Perubahan?
Sebagian orang melihat AI sebagai ancaman terhadap keberlangsungan profesi jurnalis. Kekhawatiran akan pengurangan tenaga kerja di ruang redaksi bukanlah hal yang berlebihan. Ketika satu sistem mampu menghasilkan ratusan artikel dalam waktu singkat, Perusahaan media tentu tergoda untuk menekan biaya produksi. Namun, melihat AI sebagai ancaman mungkin terlalu sederhana.
Menurut Studi tentang penggunaan AI dalam produksi berita menyoroti bagaimana teknologi ini membantu otomatisasi pengolahan data, penyusunan berita berbasis template, serta distribusi konten secara cepat di berbagai platform digital. AI di media digital dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan mempercepat ritme kerja redaksi. Dalam konteks media online yang dituntut untuk serba cepat, AI menjadi solusi efisiensi yang sangat menarik.
Sebagai Mahasiswa Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang (Unsika) yang mempelajari komunikasi dan dinamika media, kami melihat isu ini bukan sekadar persoalan teknologi, tetapi juga menyangkut identitas profesi, etika, dan masa depan demokrasi informasi.
Transisi besar-besaran di semua lini kehidupan membuat adanya perubahan kebiasaan manusia. Pada profesi jurnalis, pekerjaan-pekerjaannya perlahan mulai digantikan oleh AI. Tidak secara langsung, tapi secara perlahan. Contohnya Ketika sedang menggarap suatu pemberitaan, kerja keredaksian yang mulanya dikerjakan keseluruhan oleh manusia, saat ini sudah terbantu oleh AI, mulai dari proses verifikasi isu, transkrip, dan yang lebih membahayakan ialah ketika proses membuat redaksi berita yang juga dikerjaan oleh mesin. Bukankah ini berpengaruh pada kualitas berita dan tentu tumpulnya pemikiran kritis para jurnalis, karena semuanya telah tergantikan.
Kita pikirkan mengenai etika dalam praktik jurnalistik, apakah tetap beretika jika suatu pemberitaan mengandung bias informasi dikarenakan segala sumbernya didapatkan dari AI? Siapa yang bertanggung jawab jika berita yang dihasilkan mengandung kesalahan? tentu akan sangat memalukan jika suatu media terciduk melakukan kesalahan tersebut. Jika media sudah diketahui melakukan hal demikian, ini berdampak besar pada opini publik, bahkan bisa memengaruhi stabilitas sosial dan politik.
Contoh empiris yang bisa dilihat yakni pada kasus tersebarnya berita mengenai redenominasi uang rupiah yang beberapa waktu lalu menggemparkan publik. Ada salah satu media bodong yang memberitakan bahwa Bank Indonesia resmi mengeluarkan uang baru, dengan tiga nol terakhir di hapus. Hal ini menimbulkan kontroversi di media sosial, dan ternyata setelah di cari tahu ternyata ini berita hoaks (palsu).
Kasus ini bukan hanya fenomena clickbait media, melainkan cermin rapuhnya literasi keuangan digital kita. Berita palsu mengenai penghapusan tiga angka nol yang sempat menggemparkan publik ini membuktikan bahwa sentimen psikologis seringkali lebih dominan daripada fundamental ekonomi. Tanpa edukasi yang memadai, kebijakan teknis moneter dengan mudah dipolitisasi dan disalahpahami sebgai sanering (pemotongan daya beli), yang berisiko memicu spekulasi pasar dan inflasi dini akibat pembulatan harga secara sepihak. Fenomena ini menjadi pengingat keras bagi otoritas moneter di era informasi untuk menjaga stabilitas nilai tukar saja tidak cukup perlunya menjaga stabilitas informasi sebagai kunci kedaulatan mata uang yang sebenarnya.
Melihat berbagai temuan penelitian dan dinamika di lapangan, kami berpendapat bahwa masa depan jurnalisme AI mungkin akan semakin canggih. Ia mungkin bisa meniru gaya penulisan, merangkum informasi dengan presisi, bahkan menganalisis tren opini publik. Tetapi ada satu hal yang sulit digantikan yaitu tanggung jawab moral. Jurnalis tidak hanya menyampaikan fakta. Mereka memutuskan fakta mana yang layak diberitakan, bagaimana sudut pandang disajikan, serta bagaimana dampaknya bagi masyarakat. Keputusan-keputusan tersebut tidak sepenuhnya rasional, ini melibatkan pertimbangan nilai, empati, dan kesadaran sosial.
Jadi, Apakah Jurnalis Akan Tergantikan?
Kami berpendapat bahwa jurnalis tidak akan tergantikan, yang tergantikan hanya cara kerja konvensional yang bertransformasi menjadi cara kerja AI. Akan tetapi dengan lahirnya AI bisa saja menjadi ancaman bagi profesi jurnalis, sebagai industri yang menyajikan informasi, kini semua orang bisa mengakses informasi dengan mudah, kehadiran AI juga menjadi titik waspada, supaya mereka bisa tetap mempertahankan kualitas media, pemberitaan, dan menjaga kepercayaan publik. Jurnalis harus bisa membuktikan bahwa dengan cipta karya manusia, semua kegiatan jurnalisme akan selalu lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan teknologi kecerdasan buatan.
