Karawang, Wartacana.com – Ditengah lalu lalangnya mahasiswa di jalanan kantin depan kampus Unsika, seorang perempuan tua terduduk menundukkan kepalanya, lesu. Ia terlihat berulang kali menarik nafas panjang sembari melihat sekelilingnya. Makanan dan minuman yang ia sajikan masih terlihat rapih ditempat. Belum ada yang membeli juga dagangannya.
Kantin depan Unsika atau yang bisa disebut dengan Pojok Kuliner Unsika merupakan area kantin yang disediakan oleh pihak kampus untuk menjadi area berkumpulnya mahasiswa Unsika.
Kantin depan Unsika ini juga yang menjadi tempat dimana mahasiswa memarkirkan kendaraan pribadinya. Terlihat menyesakkan, namun ini merupakan upaya Rektor Unsika untuk memberikan fasilitas tambahan yang belum tersedia maksimal di kampus Unsika.
Suara tertawa dari orang-orang yang tengah mengobrol tak lepas mengiringi suasana kantin depan Unsika. Bersahutan dengan bisingnya suara kendaraan yang melintas di samping area kantin. Menambah suasana yang ramai namun tak seramai kedai dagangan para pedagang disana. Barang-barang berserakan dan bertumpuk dengan debu terlihat dibalik etalase kaca pedagang yang telah lama tak juga mendapat pembelinya.
Kantin depan Unsika diresmikan pada tanggal 07 Agustus 2024 oleh Bapak Rektor Unsika Prof. Ade Maman Suherman SH., MSc. Peresmian itu dirayakan sangat meriah dengan suara dari gong yang dibunyikan. Tepuk tangan dari sekitar menambah kehangatan area kantin depan.
Kantin depan Unsika sendiri memiliki 12 stand yang berada dibawah gedung dan 21 booth yang berada di sisi timur area depan kantin, berdampingan dengan area parkir kendaraan.
Kantin depan ini adalah hasil kerjasama dengan PT. Mitra Usaha Berkarya dan BTN. Lalu, untuk semua kegiatan pengelolaan yang berkaitan dengan bisnis, income generate dikelola oleh BPU (Badan Pengelola Usaha).
Di Unsika BPU ini bernama Puska (Pusat Usaha Unsika). Pusat Usaha Unsika kini dipimpin oleh seorang Direktur sekaligus dosen bernama Ibu Vera Oktavia Subagja.
Namun dibalik kemeriahan dan kehangatan peresmian itu, beberapa bulan setelahnya kantin depan semakin redup, stand tenant maupun booth semakin lusuh, berdebu tertiup angin yang menyapu sekitar.
Meja maupun kursi yang tersedia terisi orang-orang tetapi tempat penyimpanan uang pedagang disana kosong melompong, lapuk, dimakan waktu sebab tak ada uang yang masuk.
Hal tersebut tentunya berbanding terbalik dengan kantin belakang yang selalu ramai pembeli dari kalangan mahasiswa Unsika.
Nyatanya redupnya kantin depan Unsika berawal dari kesulitannya sistem pembayaran yang hanya menerima QRIS. Para pedagang harus menunggu sekitar 2-3 hari agar rekening mereka terisi. Padahal untuk bisa melakukan penjualan kembali pedagang membutuhkan modal yang didapat dari hasil penjualan sehari-hari.
“Cuma karena pembayaran hanya menggunakan QRIS saja, sempet banyak yang ngeluh” ungkap salah satu pedagang kantin depan, Ibu N.
Hal itu membuat pedagang mengalami hambatan dalam melakukan pengelolaan keuangannya sehingga kesulitan juga dalam melakukan pembayaran biaya sewa tempat.
Direktur PUSKA, Ibu Vera Oktavia Subagja juga menyampaikan bahwa “Sebetulnya apapun yang kami lakukan adalah upaya untuk fasilitasnya. Waktu awal, misalnya pakai QRIS tapi karena banyak yang merasa terhambat, ada juga pedagang yang memang keberatan karena QRIS uangnya gak masuk langsung, 2 hari kalau gak salah ya, nah lama QRIS itu, gak masuk, jadi pedagang juga merasa, gue butuh modal untuk muter gitu. Jadi akhirnya kita mencoba, okelah kita terima cash, karena memang mempermudah, intinya mempermudah apapun itu.” (Senin, 05/05/2025)
Selain itu, dari para pembeli khususnya mahasiswa Unsika pun mengaku agak kesulitan jika pedagang hanya menerima sistem pembayaran melalui QRIS. Terlebih disaat mereka hanya memegang uang Cash.
Ditambah sejak awal kantin tersebut dibuka, terlihat sekali image yang diterima oleh mahasiswa Unsika terhadap kantin depan itu harganya cukup menguras dompet mereka.
Hal tersebut membuat mahasiswa memilih untuk selalu pergi ke kantin belakang dibandingkan kantin depan. “Sering ke kantin tapi kantin belakang bukan kantin depan soalnya kantin belakang harganya lebih murah dibanding kantin depan, harganya kisaran 1.000 rupiah juga ada” ujar Rafly Haposan, Mahasiswa Unsika.
Padahal menurut penuturan para pedagang harga yang disajikan di area kantin depan Unsika tidak jauh berbeda dengan kantin belakang. Namun, karena kurangnya pembeli di area kantin depan membuat pedangang mengalami kerugian sebab omset penjualan sedikit.
Ibu N, yang merupakan pedagang kantin depan pun menuturkan bahwa omset harianya sedikit. “Kecil sebetulnya kalau kantin yang di depan ini, gak seramai yang di kantin belakang. Omsetnya kalau lagi ramai sehari kisaran 200ribu sampai 300ribu, maksimal gak sampai 500ribu, tapi rata-rata seharinya 200ribu.”
Beliau juga menyampaikan kembali bahwa untuk mengambil keuntungan dari penjualan di kantin depan Unsika ini sulit, lantaran mahasiswa memilih pergi jajan ke luar bukan ke kantin depan. “Mengambil 1% pun agak susah, soalnya udah pada keluar duluan (pembelinya)”.
