Mahasiswa KKN Unsika dan karang taruna selepas memberikan penyuluhan judi dan pinjaman online di Rumah Sekretaris Desa, Cintalaksana, Karawang.
Karawang – Judi dan pinjaman online kini telah menjadi masalah sosial utama yang harus segera diberantas lantaran bisa merusak generasi bangsa. Desa Cintalaksana yang terletak di kaki gunung Sanggabuana, Kecamatan Tegalwaru, Kabupaten Karawang merupakan desa yang rata-rata penduduknya masih berprofesi sebagai buruh tani dan pelaku UMKM. Kedua profesi tersebut dirasa rentan terjerumus akan judi dan pinjaman online.
“Saya disini coba ajak-ajak tetangga sekitar buat bikin usaha keripik, itu lumayan buat bayar emok, neng.” Ujar Ibu Entar, salah satu pelaku usaha UMKM keripik sukun (25/06/2004).
Di pedesaan, istilah “emok” atau bank keliling sudah tidak asing lagi. Banyak penduduk yang terlilit hutang karena modal usaha atau sekadar untuk menyambung hidup dari hari ke hari. Mahasiswa yang sedang menjalani KKN melihat kekhawatiran akan penduduk yang mungkin saja terkena dampak negatif dari digitalisasi yaitu judi dan pinjaman online. Terlebih dua hal tersebut semakin mudah diakses oleh masyarakat umum. Tak sedikit situs juga yang memakai pesyaratan mudah untuk menarik pengguna.
Pada tanggal 17 Juli 2024, melalui izin pemerintah desa setempat, mahasiswa mulai menyebarkan poster ke sekolah-sekolah tentang pencegahan judi dan pinjaman online di desa Cintalaksana. Tidak hanya itu, mahasiswa juga melakukan penyuluhan tentang bahaya judi dan pinjaman online pada karang taruna dan pelajar SMK saat masa orientasi mereka. Hal ini diharapkan mampu mencegah dan mengurangi fenomena judi dan pinjaman online yang dampaknya tidak hanya bagi ekonomi saja. Orang yang kecanduan akan hal ini cenderung terkena gangguan mental yang menyebabkan ia berlaku buruk pada orang di sekitarnya.
