KKN Desa Makmurjaya
Karawang, Wartacana.com – Mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang (Unsika) mengadakan sosialisasi penyuluhan pencegahan stunting di Desa Makmurjaya, Kecamatan Jayakerta. Dilaksanakan pada tanggal 8 Juli 2024, acara ini difokuskan pada upaya pencegahan stunting pada anak dengan memperkenalkan produk pangan olahan lokal, yaitu Gabin.
Stunting merupakan kondisi gagal tumbuh kronis sehingga balita memiliki panjang atau tinggi badan yang tidak sesuai jika dibandingkan dengan seusianya. Apabila masalah tersebut tidak ditangani dengan segera, maka akan mempengaruhi tumbuh kembang pada anak. Kondisi stunting pada anak menyebabkan imunitas tubuh yang menurun. Selain itu, anak stunting cenderung menderita penyakit infeksi dan penurunan kemampuan produktivitas, jika sudah dewasa nantinya akan cenderung mengalami penyakit degeneratif. Oleh karena itu, upaya pencegahan stunting sejak dini sangat penting dilakukan. Salah satu cara mencegah stunting adalah dengan menghentikan Gerakan Tutup Mulut (GTM) pada anak. GTM adalah kondisi di mana anak menolak makan, yang sering kali disebabkan oleh kebosanan dengan menu makanan yang itu-itu saja.
Dampak GTM bisa sangat merugikan, karena anak tidak mendapatkan asupan gizi yang cukup.
Sebagai bagian dari upaya untuk mendukung program Zero Stunting, kegiatan ini menyasar 22 ibu yang memiliki balita. Para ibu akan diberikan edukasi tentang cara mencegah Gerakan Tutup Mulut pada anak, yang merupakan salah satu faktor penyebab stunting.
Kegiatan ini dihadiri oleh Ibu Hj. Nining Nurnaningsih selaku Kepala Desa. Kehadiran Ibu Hj. Nining Nurnaningsih, beserta para staff kader, staff PKK, dan staff dari BKKBN dalam kegiatan ini adalah sebuah indikasi yang sangat positif. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemerintah desa memberikan dukungan yang kuat terhadap program kerja yang dilaksanakan.
Dengan dukungan dari aparat desa dan berbagai pihak terkait, program ini dapat lebih mudah dilaksanakan dan memiliki dampak yang lebih besar dalam mencapai tujuan Zero Stunting dan meningkatkan kualitas gizi anak-anak di Desa Makmurjaya.
Pada sesi live cooking, salah satu mahasiswa KKN Unsika, yaitu Winda Novita dari Program Studi Ilmu Gizi, memperkenalkan dua resep inovatif: Gabin Ubi Ungu dan Gabin Sayur. Bahan-bahan yang digunakan dalam resep tersebut adalah sebagai berikut:

Penambahan susu pada Gabin bertujuan untuk menambah kandungan protein pada hasil akhirnya. Gabin Ubi Ungu dan Gabin Sayur dibuat menarik secara visual dan juga bernutrisi tinggi, membuat anak-anak lebih tertarik untuk mengonsumsi makanan sehat. Inovasi produk pangan olahan lokal ini juga dibuat untuk salah satu alternatif makanan apabila anak tidak ingin memakan nasi namun masih memenuhi kriteria makanan sesuai dengan pedoman “isi piringku”.
Pada akhir acara, dilakukan food test hasil inovasi Gabin Ubi Ungu dan Gabin Sayur kepada ibu-ibu yang memiliki anak dengan risiko stunting. Tujuan utama dari sesi food test adalah sebagai bentuk penilaian untuk mengevaluasi dan menilai rasa serta tekstur dari gabin. Penilaian tersebut dilakukan untuk memastikan bahwa produk gabin yang dihasilkan dapat diterima oleh masyarakat. Respon dari para ibu sangat positif, mereka menyatakan bahwa Gabin sangat disukai anak-anak mereka dan berharap variasi menu ini dapat membantu mencegah GTM serta memenuhi kebutuhan gizi anak.
Dengan adanya sosialisasi ini, mahasiswa KKN Unsika berharap dapat memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam upaya pencegahan stunting di Desa Makmurjaya dan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya asupan gizi yang seimbang bagi tumbuh kembang anak.
